We had so much fun making this 3D airplane!
Chef Gonzalez started with a carrot cake sponge and filled it with cream cheese icing. Then he carved the shape of the airplane, following the photo given to us by the customer. We iced it in buttercream to hold shape and let it set for an hour before beginning the decor.
All the outer decor was done in fondant. We covered the entire plane in blue fondant and then applied fondant details: eyes, windows, tail stripe, etc.
The plane came to life when we added the smile and the eyes.
We covered the board in buttercream to resemble the clouds.
